Title of the Practice: Prayash

Objectives of the Practice:

• Development of the students' ability, enhance their potentiality.
• To make the students aware about the different competitive exams under Central & State Govt services.
• To guide and help students to prepare for various competitive examinations under Central & State Govt. services.

The Context:
The college is located in a remote area and most of the students are from BPL category because of which their situation deprives them from joining coaching for preparing different competitive exams for State & Central Govt. services. To fill up that gap, the college initiated a month-long training programme after college hours to orient and guide students of fourth/Sixth Sem and other interested students to prepare and to give ample support for competitive exams for state and govt services. While implementing the practice, a screening test is conducted on the basis of performance, students are shortlisted for the programme. In the training programme, keeping in mind questions of the competitive exams pattern different sections viz., aptitude, reasoning, English language, General awareness are covered in a best possible way to help and guide students to prepare for competitive exams.

Evidence of Success:

• Many students showed interest to attend the programme.
• Some students appeared in some competitive exams for state & Central govt. services.
• Increasing of self-confidence.

The problem encountered and resources required:
There are certain problems in the implementation of the practice as-

• The inflow of funds for payment of guest lecture/experts is limited.
• Due to daily class timing from 10:00AM to 4 PM for which most of the students get exhausted and tired.
• Girls’ students face problem in transportation in the evening time.
