This department came into existence at the time of establishment of the College in 1990. As we know that Patharkandi College is situated in rural area and therefore importance of economics is enormous. The people of this area need to have more ideas about economics to develop their region. So, more importance is given in the subject.
To impart the better knowledge to the students about the economics and to make them understand about the importance of global economic structures.
