Learning space signifies to a physical setting for a learning environment, a place where teaching as well as learning occurs. The term is generally used as a more definitive alternative to "classroom," but it may also refer to an indoor or outdoor location, either actual or virtual. Basic learning spaces in Patharkandi College premises are class rooms, library, computer centre, student’s common room etc.
A few specific learning spaces available in the institutions:
The institute has adequate number of well-furnished classrooms to accomplish the requirements of teaching-learning process all branches. All the classrooms are equipped with Fans, lights and proper ventilations. All of the classrooms possess white board as well as traditional black boards. In addition to that two ICT enabled classrooms have been offered to make the teaching-learning process more effective.
Institute provides three temporary laboratories of Biology (Zoology and Botany), Chemistry and Physics for newly introduced Science stream. The permanent building for four laboratories of science stream is under construction. All the laboratories are equipped with necessary apparatus. Practical classes for education are done in any of the classrooms with the help of equipments provided by the institution.
College has a central library with a good collection of books and other learning resources. In-house reading facilities are available for both teachers and students. Wi-Fi facilities are also provided. Users can access to e-resources of N-LIST, INFLIBNET through the institutional membership. Four computers for internet browsing and accessing e-resources and a printer for students are available. Photocopying facility is provided both for teachers and students inside the library.
College has a computer laboratory with ……….. computers. Particularly Students of Physics & Mathematics use the computer laboratory for practical purposes. Computer labs are also utilized by other department students for leaning basic aspect of computers as well as to get different knowledge based information from internet.
College has one District Computer centre having good collection of desktops. All of these are used for learning purposes to the faculties and students.
